Although Knot Standard offers custom menswear, the luxury brand is flipping the traditional model on its head by bringing technology into the dressing room. Standing at eight-feet-tall and eight- to 12-feet long, Knot Standard is welcoming its voice-activated Style Walls to Dallas.
The Knot Standard team started with personalized menswear in 2012, but have since brought customization to the next level. The Style Wall is meant to help give clients a tailored experience by producing life-size renderings of styles that morph as customers choose different features, allowing them to pick everything down to the buttons.
Adriana Melara, a style advisor of Knot Standard Custom Menswear, is helping to combine tech with style for local closets.
“The Style Wall allows us to join our online and showroom experiences in an authentic way, and enables our clients to see everything our stylists are talking about in real-time—all of it operating as sleekly as their smartphone, powered by A.I. and a voice assistant,” Melara told Dallas Innovates.
Dallas is one of the first ten showrooms to launch, and Knot Standard has brought new ways to use AI and voice assistance with them. The style walls are meant to solve problems in the modern retail journey, whether it be online or brick and mortar. A customer’s interests, preferences, and purchase history are at the ready to provide a seamless shopping experience.
“I take pride in elevating my client’s wardrobe by making recommendations and identifying gaps based on their lifestyle from work, travel, and event needs,” says Melara. “My mission is to create relationships with my clients by understanding their needs to feel confident with their wardrobe and image. It’s truly the best job.”
As one of Knot Standard’s biggest markets, Dallas has quickly taken to the Style Wall, according to Melara.
“Our clients love it; it is truly an innovative new experience for them and one we are extremely proud to share,” Melara says. “Our Knot Standard guy really appreciates that level of commitment to pushing the industry forward, and Dallas is proof of that. We know we are offering something truly unique, so it has been great to hear our Dallas clients agree.”
Knot Standard is working to match the pace of Dallas’ tech industry through fashion.
“The classic Texas styles are evolving, and we are extremely excited to be a part of that. Bold blazers, standout suits, and dinner jackets that pull in compliments,” says Melara. “With an expanding definition of work clothing, from the CEO to the entrepreneur, there has been a real shift to a smart casual sensibility—a happy medium that can take our Dallas client from his boardroom to Happy Hour to a dinner out.”
Melara and the Knot Standard team, which includes founders John Ballay and Matthew Mueller, are working to turn the Dallas menswear industry into a tech-centric styling service.
“I love the style wall because Knot Standard has truly embraced innovation by creating a tool that was influenced by stylists and clients, to see the details and customizations in real-time. It provides a complete premium experience that our clients deserve,” says Melara. “Every single appointment that I host is interactive and guides my clients to visualize their finished product. The Style Wall is the future.”
