A magic owl may not fly into your window anytime soon. So it’s up to you if your new baby is destined for Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin—the famous Hogwarts houses in the Harry Potter books and movies. When you decide, a local company is ready to deck your baby out.
Kyte Baby, a fashion brand based in Euless, launched a new Harry Potter–inspired collection today featuring prints inspired by the four Hogwarts houses. And it’s just just for babies: Styles are also being made for toddlers, kids, and adults “so the whole family can show their love for the Wizarding World and represent their favorite Hogwarts house.”
Kyte Baby founder Ying Liu—who launched her company in 2014—notes that this collection is an expansion of a Harry Potter-inspired collection her brand released in 2022, with today’s launch featuring “new, delightful prints.”
“The Harry Potter films inspire all of us here at Kyte Baby, and we hope families are able to bond over the collection,” Liu said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see how our Kyte Baby community brings these magical prints to life!”
Kyte Baby offers clothing for babies, toddlers, and moms made with hypoallergenic “environmentally intelligent” bamboo fabric. The “buttery soft” fabric is “3 degrees cooler than cotton to keep you and your baby comfortable,” the company says.
The new prints feature iconic house emblems, symbols, and items from the Wizarding World. The ruby-red Gryffindor print background is covered with items including a lion and Harry’s glasses. Hufflepuff features a badger and Helga Hufflepuff’s cup over a marigold background. Printed on last year’s “fan-favorite color,” Tahoe, an eagle and Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem stand for Ravenclaw. Slytherin gets a snake and Salazar Slytherin’s locket on a dark forest green background.
Kyte Baby partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to license the Harry Potter imagery for the apparel line.
The line is available now at the Kyte Baby website.
Founder launched Kyte Baby after her own baby needed comfortable wear
Kyte Baby founder Liu, who lives in Southlake, launched her apparel brand after seeing the need for it in her own household. Looking for a better quality material for her sensitive baby’s skin, she researched various options and embraced the “soothing, sustainable” properties of bamboo before deciding to launch her own apparel line.
Liu told DFW Child last year that she and her family moved from Canada to the Dallas area as her business took off.
“The demand for most of our products was coming from the United States, so it just made sense to move our headquarters,” Liu told DFW Child. “Being in Texas had major business benefits, like no state income taxes, and then the Dallas-Fort Worth area was especially attractive because of the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. Then we discovered Southlake and it was just so clean and organized. The schools were great, and the cost of living was so much better than it was in Canada.”
