Houston Engineering Firm Opens Dallas Office Near Love Field

The new Dallas office of Sparx Engineering is in the historic Braniff Centre building near Love Field, where it will offer clients both short- and long-term access to a cross-functional team of experienced engineers.

Houston-based Sparx Engineering is opening a Dallas office in the historic Braniff Centre building off Lemmon Avenue near Love Field. At its new office, it will offer clients both short- and long-term access to a cross-functional team of experienced engineers.

Sparx was founded in 2009 by David Headley, Rick Pettys, and Paul Hoopingarner.

“We’re excited to be expanding our presence into the Dallas area,” Hoopingarner said in a statement. “The combination of a robust business environment and the talented engineers and professionals in the Metroplex, made the decision to invest in our next flagship office an easy one.”

Sparx said it has more professional engineering disciplines than most firms in Texas, with expertise in a variety of areas, including software development, electronics design, chemical products and services, biomedical technology, automation, mechanical design, industrial design, and product management.

The company said the new location will accomplish three goals:

  • Conveniently locate it near a major travel hub for clients across the country
  • Establish a home for the firm in the North Texas business community
  • Give Sparx better access to talent as they expand the company and its offerings

Dallas is ‘full of innovators who need a company like ours’

Sparx said it manages projects in all sizes and stages of development by leveraging its team of engineers and scientists.

“Dallas is a big market for us because it is full of innovators who need a company like ours to solve hard problems and move quickly,” Headley said in a statement. “We have the ability to engage in full-cycle development, from initial ideas to prototype and production, and our clients love the open collaboration with the Sparx team.”

Pettys said the firm’s engineering team, expertise, and resources typically are only found in companies that have more than a thousand employees.

“Because the art of engineering is our product, we’re able to focus on providing exactly the right skills and talent to bring our North Texas clients’ projects to the finish line quickly,” Pettys said. “That way, they can stay focused on their specific industry while trusting us to provide the right engineering skills when they need them.”

Sparx said the new Dallas office is part of its continued growth and commitment to providing clients with access to the skills and resources of a large engineering team without the burdens and project delays that come with trying to build that team in-house.
