Fort Worth’s Harvest Returns Partners with Farm Biz Platform Good Agriculture

Harvest Returns is a crowdfunding marketplace that reached the $30 million mark last April by funding more than 50 farms, ranches, and other agribusinesses. Now it's partnering with Atlanta's Good Agriculture, which helps farms focus on their farming by helping with back-end business management.

When you invest in agriculture, you want to make sure the farm company is handling its business as well as it handles its corn, soybeans, broccoli, and all those other things our kids push to the back of their plates.

Now a new partnership is putting the two things together. Harvest Returns, a Fort Worth-based online platform for agriculture investing, has announced a partnership with Good Agriculture, a farmer-first, tech-enabled company focused on helping agriculture producers manage the business side of their operations.

Moving forward, the two companies will promote customer referrals for their respective services.

“We’re often approached by quality farm companies that have solid business plans but are unable to put together financial statements that are adequate for raising capital on our platform,” Harvest Returns CEO Chris Rawley said in a statement. “The partnership with Good Agriculture solves that problem and will help us to fund many more wonderful family farms and ranches.”

Founded in 2016 by two military veterans—Rawley and COO Austin Maness—Harvest Returns is an online crowdfunding marketplace that brings agricultural producers together with investors. Last April, Harvest Returns reached the $30 million mark in funding more than 50 farms, ranches, and other agribusinesses.

Using AI to help farmers farm instead of getting bogged down by business

Founded in 2022, Atlanta-based Good Agriculture is an AI-powered farm business management platform that helps farmers focus on their farming operations by spending less time on “back-office activities.” The company says it simplifies the full stack of farm finance, including “federal incentive programs, crop insurance, cost of production, and agriculture taxes.”

Their products complement Harvest Returns’ investment platform services, “which require sophisticated financial projections and ongoing reporting,” Harvest Returns said. Other services include grant writing, marketing, sales, certifications and business case studies.

Accessing capital is ‘the number-one challenge’ for farmers

Good Agriculture CEO Alex Edquist says his company hears from farmers that “accessing capital is their number-one challenge.”

“Harvest Returns is a leader in funding innovative, creative, and sustainable farm businesses, and we’re so excited to partner with them to help farmers and ranchers grow and thrive,” Edquist added in a statement.
