Glenn Hamilton, MD, has been appointed as the new chief medical officer of Dallas-based Evry Health, a Globe Life Company and a tech-forward business-to-business health insurance company.
Hamilton brings more than 25 years of executive leadership and frontline clinical experience to his new role at Evry Health.
“Dr. Hamilton’s depth of experience in clinical care and managed care strategy, combined with his passion for patient-centered innovation, makes him an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to redefine what health insurance can and should be,” Chris Gay, Evry Health co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our core focus to deliver smarter, more efficient healthcare for everyone we serve driven by our tech-centric integrated model.”
Evry is a mobile-first, tech-driven B2B health insurance company focused on lowering healthcare costs and improving access and quality via software automation and no copays/deductibles plans. Founded in 2017, it publicly launched from stealth in December 2021.
The company was acquired by McKinney-based Globe Life in October 2023.
‘Driving change for sustainable healthcare reform’
Hamilton will oversee all aspects of population health, utilization management, and clinical policy, the company said. He’ll play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to improve the state and quality of healthcare in the United States, making healthcare affordable, easily accessible, and transparent, the company said.
“I’ve always been passionate about driving change for sustainable healthcare reform, which is why I joined Evry Health. I believe we have a real opportunity to lead meaningful change in how healthcare is delivered and experienced,” Hamilton said in a statement. “Evry’s directive to empower members, simplify care and reduce administrative burden for providers aligns with my commitment to improving outcomes through smarter, more sustainable managed care strategies. Together, we’re building a health plan that puts people, not red tape, at the center of care.”
A board-certified family medicine physician, Hamilton has held chief medical officer roles across commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans, including Blue Cross-affiliated and independent nonprofit managed care organizations.
Earlier in his career, Hamilton was a faculty member at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he served as director of the Family Practice residency program at Jefferson’s Inspira Hospital System.
An Air Force veteran, Hamilton held the role of chief medical officer (SGH) at the San Antonio Air Logistics Center during Desert Storm, leading the largest military occupational health clinic in the world at the time.
At Evry, health insurance isn’t about premiums, deductibles and coverage; it is about ensuring the people it serves live healthier and happier lives, the company said.
