Enterprise Browser Unicorn Island Adds VP of Worldwide Channel Sales

Keith Weatherford brings more than 20 years of experience developing and implementing channel partner strategies for leading security companies and will be tasked with building and scaling Island’s global channel presence.

Dallas-based enterprise browser unicorn Island has added Keith Weatherford to its executive team as vice president of worldwide channel sales.

Island emerged from stealth in February 2022. Valued at $1.3 billion in March, the startup continues to attract big investments for its enterprise browser, which aims to protect companies’ SaaS tools and internal web apps from data leaks with a long list of security features.

Weatherford brings more than 20 years of experience developing and implementing channel partner strategies for leading security companies, Island said. He’ll be tasked with building and scaling Island’s global channel presence.

Island CEO and co-founder Mike Fey says Weatherford is a “well-respected, seasoned channel leader with a stellar track record for driving billions of dollars in revenue.”

Fey says Island has proven its product-market fit “across every vertical and in every segment.”

“There is tremendous appetite in the channel to bring Island’s game-changing innovation to customers, and a seasoned leader like Keith will accelerate our ability to create solid, mutually beneficial growth opportunities,” he said.

Before Island, Weatherford was vice president, Worldwide Channel Sales, for Forescout Technologies Inc. He has held channel sales leadership positions at market-leading information security companies including Symantec, Blue Coat Systems, and McAfee.

“With its enterprise browser, Island is pioneering an entirely new category of enterprise software that affords CISOs and CIOs a simpler and more secure way to protect the enterprise while improving the user experience and reducing costs and complexity in the security stack,” Weatherford said in a statement.

“The pace of market adoption by some of the world’s leading companies has been nothing less than remarkable, and I’m looking forward to working with channel partners who are energized by the opportunity to bring Island’s innovative, paradigm-shifting Enterprise Browser to their customers.”

Weatherford’s appointment follows the recent addition of Richard Greene as Island’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships.
