Downtown Dallas has landed another corporate headquarters.

Jacobs Engineering Group’s plans to move its headquarters from California to Dallas are official, according to the Dallas Business Journal

The firm, which has offices around the globe, will be adding space to its current Dallas office at Harwood Center.

“As we continue to focus on transforming our business in terms of efficiency and high-growth in the engineering and construction industry, our new headquarter location ensures access to top talent and positions Jacobs for convenient access to our clients,” Jacobs Chairman and CEO Steven Demetriou said in statement. “In Dallas, we will also benefit from a business-friendly economic and cultural environment.

“The Jacobs headquarters relocation from California is yet another critical step forward in the revitalization of downtown Dallas.”

John Crawford

According to The Dallas Morning News, the headquarters move will bring 100 new jobs. The firm will receive a $1.3 million Texas Enterprise Fund grant for the relocation.

“The Jacobs headquarters relocation from California is yet another critical step forward in the revitalization of downtown Dallas,” John Crawford of Downtown Dallas Inc told The News. “Jacobs is a major international firm which had a number of options and we could not be more pleased with their decision that adds greatly to the perception and reality that downtown continues to be the largest work force in North Texas.”
