EarthX2020, known as the world’s largest environmental gathering, announced last month that it’s going virtual this year in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Now its E-Capital Summit, normally an invitation-only event, is joining in by opening up its virtual doors to all.
“This is a moment when we show just how strong the climate tech innovation ecosystem is,” Matt Myers, vice president of EarthX Capital, wrote in an email to Dallas Innovates. “It’s time.”
The summit will bring together private capital, financiers, early- to late-stage companies, industry thought leaders, key local and national policy-makers, incubators, accelerators, and researchers to collaborate and create environmental solutions, according to the EarthX website.
The EarthX E-Capital Summit will be held from April 22-24 and feature presentations from climate tech innovators and investors. Over the course of three days, virtual panels will also be held on topics such as “New Capital, Unconventional Approaches,” “DBL’s Future: How to Thrive in a Post-Coronavirus World,” and “Charting a Bipartisan Pathway Forward.”
There’s also $10,000 up for grabs through a pitch competition open to early-stage startups. To qualify, the startup must not have raised more than $500,000 in dilutive funding and have annual revenue under $250,000. The competition will be held throughout the summit with the winners announced on April 24.
Deadline is April 10, 11:59 p.m.
For anyone who doesn’t want to miss out on networking, don’t worry, there will be virtual happy hours and the opportunity for companies to connect with potential investors through one-on-one virtual meetings. To join in on the latter, make sure to register for E-Capital Connection by April 10.
EarthX emphasizes that the event is purely philanthropic with no brokerage fees or hidden agendas. For more information on the E-Capital Summit, go here.
