Mary Kay appoints Gibbons as chief operating officer
Deborah Gibbons has been named the new chief operating officer at Addison-based Mary Kay Inc., a global cosmetics company.
Gibbons has been with Mary Kay since 2013, and previously has been its chief financial officer. Mary Kay said Gibbons’ appointment will be instrumental in it advancing its goals to better serve the millions of Mary Kay independent beauty consultants across the globe.
She is an SMU graduate and a certified public accountant.
Webb joins Caruth Capital as a partner
David Webb has joined Dallas-based private equity firm Caruth Capital Partners as a partner and member of the firm’s investment committee.
In his new role, Caruth said that Webb will work to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, negotiate and structure transactions, and facilitate post-acquisition growth strategies through active engagement and management teams.
He has 20 years of investment experience, Caruth said in a release, and most recently was at SunTX Capital Partners.
Four executives promoted by Jacobs Engineering
Dallas-based Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced executive promotions, which took effect Oct. 1.
Terry Hagen and Bob Pragada have been promoted to newly created chief operating officer (COO) roles that reflect expanded leadership responsibilities, Jacobs said in a release.
Chief Financial Officer Kevin Berryman will see his responsibilities expanded. In addition to leading finance, investor relations, strategy and M&A, Jacobs said that Berryman will take on the additional responsibilities of leading real estate, global business services, strategic project integration, and corporate communications functions.
Joanne Caruso has been promoted to chief legal and administration officer, a role in which she will oversee legal, human resources, compliance, and insurance functions, as well as the company’s Sales and Operational Centers of Excellence. Jacobs said the latter operation includes project delivery, global supply management, sustainability, health, safety, environment, global security, and resilience.
“These promotions reflect the strong contributions these executives have made to Jacobs’ growth and success and our belief that, in these new roles, they can help take the company even further,” Jacobs Chairman and CEO Steve Demetriou said in the release.
Alcott joins Magna5’s board of directors
Plano-based Magna5, a national provider of cloud, managed IT, and professional services, has appointed Scott Alcott to its board of directors.
Alcott is the former chief information officer of Comcast, the Philadelphia-based global media and technology company with two primary business, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal. Magna5 builds intelligent connections through a reliable, secure communications network of voice, data, and cloud-based services.
Modern Message names new East Coast sales manager
Dallas-based Modern Message has appointed Rick DeNenno as its new East Coast sales manager.
Modern Message is the creator of Community Rewards, a digital resident loyalty platform for apartment communities.
The company said that DeNenno will focus on growing its rapidly expanding East Coast market and will be in charge of developing new partnerships within the East Coast region.
