DEC Network to Host Inaugural, Virtual Women X Tech Conference Thursday
Women entrepreneurs—especially those in the tech world—have something to keep them warm at home Thursday during tomorrow's winter storm: The DEC Network’s inaugural, all-virtual Women X Tech event, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is designed to help women founders from all tech industries connect, learn, and grow their businesses.

The DEC Network will host its inaugural Women X Tech event tomorrow (Thursday February 3) as part of its continued strategy of uplifting women entrepreneurs—especially those in the tech world. And don’t worry about the winter storm—it’s a virtual event, and it’s free.
Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Women X Tech is designed to help women founders from all tech industries connect, learn, and grow their businesses.
A series of 30-minute Lightning Talk rounds will be interspersed with keynote and masterclass speakers. Attendees will be able to gain insights on securing funding in the tech industry, along with other strategies for success.
Speakers at the virtual event will include:
- Star Carter, co-founder and COO of Kanarys. Carter was named one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Female Founders in 2021, one of AfroTech’s 31 Influential Black Women Who Accomplished Famous Firsts to Make History, also in 2021, and part of Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2020. She will be the keynote speaker.
- Rachel West, entrepreneur in residence at RevTech Ventures. West is the youngest female fund manager in Texas history.
- Erica Mollet, CEO of Kandake Tech. Mollet, a serial entrepreneur, was a recent participant in The DEC Network’s Fast Start Mentoring Program.
- Lisa Coca, partner at Toyota Ventures. Coca leads the firm’s Climate Fund, where she invests in the best entrepreneurs developing technologies and solutions focused on fighting climate change.
The conference will include opportunities for “virtual networking” with peers and speakers, DEC Network says. It encourages women tech founders from companies of all sizes to register.

The American Rescue Act initiative aims to reduce barriers that underrepresented and underserved entrepreneurs often face in accessing the programs they need to recover, grow, or start their businesses. The Dallas Entrepreneur Center will use the grant to engage efforts with six Dallas-area organizations: Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center; LiftFund; TruFund; Dallas College; BCL of Texas; and WiNGS.
