Dallas-based Unifeye Vision Partners has acquired Insight Vision Group, a leading comprehensive eyecare platform with a presence across California.

The acquisition establishes Unifeye Vision Partners’ West Coast footprint, the company said. UVP is a portfolio company of Waud Capital.

The acquisition was announced by Brown Gibbons Lang & Co., whose healthcare investment banking team served as the exclusive financial adviser to Insight Vision Group.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

With a network of 123 providers, 44 clinic locations, and 13 ambulatory surgery centers, Unifeye Vision Partners provides management and support services to a nationwide network of ophthalmology and optometry practices, as well as single-specialty eye surgery centers.

Insight Vision Group, one of the fastest growing eyecare platforms in the country, has 10 clinics and two multi-specialty ASCs throughout Southern California and the Central Coast.

Insight was formed via the merger of Los Angeles-based DLV Vision and San Luis Obispo-based ADV Vision and was founded in 1996 by Dr. Paul J. Dougherty, a refractive and cataract surgeon.

Dougherty was one of the first surgeons in the nation to perform laser vision correction on an investigational basis and helped pioneer many of today’s most advanced refractive surgery techniques, the company said.
