Dallas Startup Hosting Event to Empower Young Women

The event's goal is to educate, inspire, and prepare young women to network, earn income, and become financially literate.

Registration is underway for “Empowering Tomorrow’s Women Today,” a free event aimed at educating, inspiring, and preparing young women to network, earn income, and become financially literate.

The event is sponsored by Skratch, a Dallas-based mobile platform that connects teens with paying gigs in their own neighborhoods. It will be from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 20 at the University of Texas at Dallas’ Blackstone LaunchPad, 2830 Retford Ave. in Richardson.

Panelists for the event will be Amber Griffin, international model and founder of the Model Prep program; Randi Rubinstein, speaker and author of The Parent Gap: Tools to Keep Your Cool, Stay Connected and Change Unhealthy Patterns; and Summer Pailet, collaborative managing partner at ID360inc, a people development firm. Janelle Brandon, social media anchor for WFAA/Channel 8’s Daybreak morning show in Dallas, will moderate the discussion.

Organizers are asking registrants to bring gift cards to donate to Genesis Women’s Shelter.
