Abstract: Graphene is a single layer carbon-based material known for high strength, high flexibility, high electrical conductivity, high surface area, hydrophobicity and barrier property. Introduction of surface functional groups on graphene enhances most of these properties. A facile and economical process to prepare amine and fluoride functionalized graphenes is disclosed. The disclosed processes utilize direct functionalization of pristine graphene without pre-functionalization (GO). Successful functionalization of both aminated and fluorinated graphenes were confirmed by the analyses of FT-IR, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Raman, UV-Vis, and dispersion study. Amine functional groups can react with epoxy resin and urethane resin to form a covalent bond, and fluorinated graphene can give high hydrophobicity and durability, therefore both can be applied as a material or a component in polymer and composite coatings for corrosion protection, moisture or gas barriers.

The upstream pair of resonators has a relatively low resonance frequency, while the downstream pair of resonators has a relatively high resonance frequency. The combination of frequency mismatch between the resonator pairs, and loss mismatch within each resonator pair, produces consistently high sound absorption across a broad frequency spectrum.

Abstract: Systems described herein provide techniques for establishing and modifying user plane communications sessions between Long-Term Evolution (”LTE”) User Equipment (”UE”) devices, connected to LTE base stations, and a Fifth Generation (”5G”) core network. An LTE-5G Interworking function (”LTE-5G IWF”) may logically generate a virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, map a LTE UE to the virtual 5G UE, and cause the establishment of a Protocol Data Unit (”PDU”) Session, at the 5G core network, with the virtual 5G UE. The LTE-5G IWF may also maintain a 5G context, including the information of the virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, based on the actual location of the LTE UE and/or an LTE base station to which the LTE UE is connected. The LTE-5G IWF may further update this context, including location information, when the LTE UE is handed over from one LTE base station to another.

Power efficient tunneled direct link setup apparatus, systems and methods
Patent No. 11116020

Inventor(s): Ariton Xhafa (Plano, TX), Leonardo William Estevez (Rockwall, TX), Ramanuja Vedantham (Allen, TX), Yanjun Sun (San Diego, CA)
Assignee(s): Texas Instmments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16897107 on 06/09/2020 (455 days app to issue)

Abstract: An emulated wireless access point (AP) at a first PMC device (PMC1) establishes a first tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) session between a first station module (STA1) incorporated into the PMC1 and a second station module (STA2) incorporated into a second PMC device (PMC2). Following establishment of the TDLS session, the wireless AP is allowed to sleep; and most infrastructure management duties are handled by the STA1 during the session. PMC device battery charge may be conserved as a result. The emulated wireless AP may also establish a second TDLS link to a third station module (STA3) incorporated into a third PMC device (PMC3). The STA1 may then bridge data traffic flow between the STA2 and the STA3. Such bridging operation may enable communication between two PMC devices otherwise unable to decode data received from the other.
