Reducing magnetic hysteresis of a position sensor assembly
Patent No. 11643903

Inventor(s): Robert William Gissler (Spring, TX)
Assignee(s): Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. (Carrollton, TX)
Law Firm: Parker Justiss, P.C. (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16674038 on 11/05/2019 (1281 days app to issue)

Abstract: This disclosure presents an apparatus to improve the indication of an amount that a fluid valve is opened. The fluid control assembly includes an improved position sensor assembly (PSA), where the PSA uses rollers rather than sliding within the PSA housing. The rollers, which can be wheels, ball bearings, and other types of rolling devices, can reduce the friction experienced by the moving component within the PSA. Since the PSA mechanism can move with less friction, the coupled valve magnetic assembly (VMA) can also be enhanced. The VMA can utilize magnets in orientations that enhance the magnetic tensile and compressive forces. For example, some magnets in the VMA can be in a perpendicular orientation to improve directional control and some magnets can be in an angled orientation to reduce the spread of the magnetic field flux lines between the magnets of the VMA and the magnets of the PSA.

Assignee(s): UNASSIGNED
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16938958 on 07/25/2020 (1018 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system for electromagnetically transferring heat from one region to another region. To cool one region in a chamber, antennas in the chamber to be cooled preferably have a broad beam to collect thermal radiation as much as possible within the chamber. Antennas to be used for heat pumping are preferably of high directivity where the antenna beam is pointed to a cold region such as the zenith of the sky. The system for electromagnetic heating is similar to that for electromagnetic cooling except heat flow is reversed. Here, the antennas outside a chamber have a highly focused beam to a hot area, such as the sun. The collected heat is channeled into an area to be heated by low-directivity antennas within an enclosed volume to be heated.

Patent No. 11644555

Inventor(s): Anand Gopalan (Plano, TX), Lei Ding (Plano, TX), Srinath Mathur Ramaswamy (Murphy, TX), Vaibhav Garg (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16364691 on 03/26/2019 (1505 days app to issue)

Abstract: In an ultrasonic detection system that uses frequency-modulation coding to distinguish emitted bursts from multiple transducers, a receiver associated with a transducer uses dynamic thresholding to discriminate valid echoes from system and environmental noise in multiple envelope signals produced by multiple correlators. The time-varying dynamic thresholds are generated from the mean of noise in a respective envelope derived from the output of a respective correlator. Multiple thresholds can be combined together such that a single time-varying threshold is applied to all correlators” envelopes. Such thresholding has the benefits of a constant false-alarm rate with regard to detection of echoes (as opposed to false triggering from noise), and, owing to finer-resolution and adaptive thresholds, can detect targets or obstacles as further distances and with greater time responsiveness.

Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17392500 on 08/03/2021 (644 days app to issue)

Abstract: Technology is provided for extending the useful life of a block of memory cells by changing an operating parameter in a physical region of the block that is more susceptible to wear than other regions. Changing the operating parameter in the physical region extends the life of that region, which extends the life of the block. The operating parameter may be, for example, a program voltage step size or a storage capacity of the memory cells. For example, using a smaller program voltage step size in a sub-block that is more susceptible to wear extends the life of that sub-block, which extends the life of the block. For example, programming memory cells to fewer bits per cell in the region of the block (e.g., sub-block, word line) that is more susceptible to wear extends the useful life of that region, which extends the life of the block.

Assignee(s): Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc. (Basking Ridge, NJ)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17804619 on 05/31/2022 (343 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system described herein may provide for the use of artificial intelligence/machine learning (”AI/ML”) techniques to model energy usage information and energy saving techniques in various locations or regions (e.g., sectors) associated with one or more radio access networks (”RANs”) of a wireless network. The system may determine energy saving techniques, such as radio frequency (”RF”) transmission modification in time and/or frequency domains, antenna mode modification, cell sleep mode, beamforming parameters, and/or other suitable techniques to modify energy consumption at such sectors. The system may balance energy savings with maintaining Quality of Service (”QoS”) metrics at an acceptable level.

Capability signaling to enable full power uplink transmission
Patent No. 11647467

Inventor(s): Eko Onggosanusi (Coppell, TX), Md. Saifur Rahman (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Suwon-si, , KR)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17325126 on 05/19/2021 (720 days app to issue)

Abstract: A method for operating a user equipment (UE) comprises transmitting UE capability information including a full power transmission capability, wherein the full power transmission capability includes information (I) to indicate multiple transmit precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) groups that deliver full power; receiving configuration information for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission; receiving a TPMI indicating a precoding matrix and a number of layers for the PUSCH transmission; determining the PUSCH transmission based on the configuration information; determining a power level for the PUSCH transmission, wherein the power level corresponds to full power if the TPMI is included in one of the multiple TPMI groups that deliver full power; and transmitting the PUSCH transmission with the determined power level.

System and method for delivery of end device policies during registration procedure
Patent No. 11647475

Inventor(s): Imtiyaz Shaikh (Irving, TX), Sudhakar Reddy Patil (Flower Mound, TX)
Assignee(s): Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc. (Basking Ridge, NJ)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16831214 on 03/26/2020 (1139 days app to issue)

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which policy delivery is provided. A network device of a core network may receive a registration request message that includes a request for an end device policy. The network device may perform a registration procedure and a policy procedure pertaining to an end device. The network device determines when the registration and the policy procedures are completed. The network device transmits a registration response that includes an end device policy to an end device.
