Abstract: This disclosure presents a safe high speed roll-up door with spiral brackets. To enable a high speed operation, robust spiral brackets having efficient spacing are provided to guide the plurality of sectional slats. Durable and low noise signature rollers are used. A unique assembly configuration of the slats and the tracks guiding the rollers enable quick replacement of each individual roller without disassembling the door. A double-belt counter weight mechanism balances the door and incorporates safety sensors that prevent loosening the belts when the door is jammed. The belts are further adjustable using ratchets such that adjustment for the horizontal balance as well as weight position is made effortless. In all, the high speed roll-up door using sectional slats performs faster and quieter, withstands greater loads, and lasts longer than other existing roll-up doors with spiral brackets.

Law Firm: Crowe Dunlevy (Local + 7 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16452813 on 06/26/2019 (860 days app to issue)

Abstract: A drive signal is applied to a MEMS gyroscope having several intrinsic resonant modes. Frequency and amplitude of mechanical oscillation in response to the drive signal is sensed. At startup, the drive signal frequency is set to a kicking frequency offset from a resonant frequency corresponding to a desired one of the intrinsic resonant modes. In response to sufficient sensed amplitude of mechanical oscillation at the kicking frequency, a frequency tracking process is engaged to control the frequency for the drive signal to sustain mechanical oscillation at the frequency of the desired one of the plurality of intrinsic resonant modes as the oscillation amplitude increases. When the increasing amplitude of the mechanical oscillation exceeds a threshold, a gain control process is used to exercise gain control over the applied drive signal so as to cause the amplitude of mechanical oscillation to match a further threshold. At that point start-up terminates.

Abstract: A method of frequency estimation. A clock output from a frequency synthesizer is received at an input of a ring encoder. The ring encoder generates outputs including a ring encoder output clock and an encoded output which represents LSBs of a clock cycle count of the clock output. A binary counter is run using the ring encoder output clock which provides an output count which represents MSBs of the clock cycle count. Using a reference clock, the encoded output is sampled to provide a sampled encoded output and the output count is sampled to provide a sampled output count. Error correcting is applied to the sampled encoded output to provide a corrected sampled encoded output. The corrected sampled encoded output and sampled output count are combined to provide a combined output which is used for estimating an instantaneous or average frequency of the clock output.

Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16830673 on 03/26/2020 (586 days app to issue)

Abstract: Multiple transform sizes improve video coding efficiency, but also increase the implementation complexity. Furthermore, both forward and inverse transforms need to be supported in various consumer devices. Embodiments provide a unified forward and inverse transform architecture that supports computation of both forward and inverse transforms for multiple transforms sizes using shared hardware circuits. The unified architecture exploits the symmetry properties of forward and inverse transform matrices to achieve hardware sharing across different the transform sizes and also between forward and inverse transform computations.

Selective sound transmission and active sound transmission control
Patent No. 11164559

Inventor(s): Hideo Iizuka (Ann Arbor, MI), Taehwa Lee (Ann Arbor, MI)
Assignee(s): Toyota Motor Engineering Manufacturing North America, Inc. (Plano, TX)
Law Firm: Darrow Mustafa PC (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15966325 on 04/30/2018 (1282 days app to issue)

Abstract: Passively controlled acoustic metamaterials allow transmission of low amplitude acoustic (sound) waves having a resonance frequency and reflect waves having a substantially different frequency. Such materials also reflect waves having the resonance frequency when those waves have an amplitude exceeding a threshold. High amplitude resonance waves cause a resonance membrane contained in unit cells of the metamaterial to contact a rigid structure that is positioned at a longitudinal constraint distance from the resonance membrane in each unit cell. Such contact changes the resonance frequency of the membrane, thereby causing reflection of high amplitude waves. Actively controlled acoustic metamaterials include a ferromagnetic layer on the membrane and an electromagnetic positioned in each unit cell. Activation of the electromagnetic displaces the membrane and thereby shifts the resonance frequency of the membrane, on demand.

Augmented intent and entity extraction using pattern recognition interstitial regular expressions
Patent No. 11164564

Inventor(s): Bhargav Aditya Ayyagari (Plano, TX), Donatus Asumu (McKinney, TX)
Assignee(s): Bank of America Corporation (Charlotte, NC)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16900280 on 06/12/2020 (508 days app to issue)

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a system comprises interface circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives an input via the interface circuitry. The input is based on an utterance of a user, and the processing circuitry uses a probabilistic engine to determine one or more candidate intents associated with the utterance. The processing circuitry determines a number of the one or more candidate intents that exceed a threshold. If the number of candidate intents that exceed the threshold does not equal one, the processing circuitry uses a deterministic engine to compare the input to a set of regular expression patterns. If the input matches one of the regular expression patterns, the processing circuitry uses the matching regular expression pattern to determine the intent of the utterance. The interface circuitry communicates the intent of the utterance as an output.
