Dallas’ Howard LLP Merges into Top 50 CPA Firm Bonadio Group

Bonadio Group said the move strengthens its commitment to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The move becomes official on Nov. 1, when all 85 employees of Howard LLP will join The Bonadio Group.

Dallas-based CPA firm Howard LLP will join The Bonadio Group, a nationally ranked Top 50 CPA firm and the largest independent provider of professional services in Upstate New York.

Bonadio Group said the move strengthens its commitment to the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The move becomes official on Nov. 1, when all 85 employees of Howard LLP will join The Bonadio Group. No financial details were released.

On that date, Howard LLP will begin to operate under The Bonadio Group name.

“Howard features a strong roster of clients across multiple industries, a team of outstanding professionals, a culture that mirrors our core values, and an excellent reputation in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex,” Bonadio Group CEO Bruce Zicari said in a statement.

“For those reasons and more, Howard is the ideal CPA firm for us to join with as we seek to provide superior service for our clients and increased development opportunities for our people. We’re thrilled to welcome Howard to The Bonadio Group.”

The Bonadio Group opened a Dallas office in 2018, based on increased client needs and the potential for growth in the robust regional business environment. It said that combining with Howard represents a continuation of The Bonadio Group’s ongoing growth strategy, which includes expanding both capabilities and footprint.

Tim Pike, chief executive officer of Howard LLP, will serve as The Bonadio Group’s Dallas regional managing partner and a member of the firm’s board. Pike joined Howard in 2004 and has served as chief executive officer since 2021.

Jeff Wexler, current Dallas regional managing partner, helped open the Dallas office in 2018 and the firm said he has been integral to the success and expansion of the firm throughout the region.

As Wexler transitions the regional managing partner role to Pike, the firm said he will refocus his efforts on business development and client service to support continued strategic growth in Texas.

Founded in 1973, Howard provides deep experience in tax and compliance services, including business, individual, estate, and franchise tax planning.

The firm said those focused tax capabilities complement The Bonadio Group’s comprehensive assurance and advisory and consulting services, providing clients with enhanced offerings, capabilities, and expertise to help optimize business performance.

Pike said that Howard and The Bonadio Group share important compatibilities in their approaches to client service and corporate culture.

“We look forward to building on the successes of our firms’ combined 90+ years of experience and are excited about the benefits our clients and employees will gain from this,” Pike said.
