This Dallas Startup Uses Geolocation to Modernize the Home Services Industry

Home servicing app billyGO is cutting down the cost and time needed to complete clients' repair needs with its one-hour window guarantee.

The billyGO app is reshaping home repair servicing with its newly updated “HVAC and plumbing by APPointment” business model. The startup solves the hassle of scheduling repair services by allowing homeowners to make APPointments based on their own schedules.

With the billyGO app, it only takes minutes to create an APPointment, saving users’ time through an algorithm-based scheduling system. Launched in September 2018 by founder, CEO, and licensed plumber Billy Stevens, the app labels itself as the most convenient way to schedule air conditioning and plumbing services in today’s increasingly modern world.

“For the homeowners, they can actually schedule us like they would schedule a doctor’s appointment,” Stevens told Dallas Innovates. “And, they can actually see the plumber coming.”

Using integrated geolocation software, billyGO identifies the whereabouts of both the employees and homeowners. Then, it assigns the job to the nearest plumbing or AC tech whose schedule and location make them the best match.

“We eliminate a lot of driving all over the metroplex that’s currently happening at other companies,” Stevens says.

Finding time to schedule a service repair can be discouraging for those with demanding schedules, but with the billyGO app, the plumber or technician works during the customer’s most convenient time.

“In fact, if a billyGO technician is ever late for a scheduled APPointment, the customer’s bill will be credited for every minute they are late,” Ann Littmann, billyGO’s PR rep, says.

With just 20 employees, the company has already serviced over 4,000 homes in North Texas in less than one year of operation, with plans to double that by March 2020. According to Littmann, billyGO aims to put “integrity, security, and customer service back into the industry through its patent-pending app.”

“billyGO’s customer-centric business model is truly revolutionizing an industry that has long been focused on benefiting the service provider as opposed to the homeowner,” he says.
