Dallas-Based RecNation Launches Two New Service Businesses

RecExec offers marketing, sales, and operational expertise to other RV and boat storage property owners and developers across the country. RecResale is RecNation’s officially licensed RV dealership for its RV storage customers who are interested in selling their RVs.

RecNation Storage has launched two unique service companies, RecExec and RecResale, further expanding the Dallas-based company’s leading position in the marine and RV storage industry.

The company said that RecExec enables it to offer marketing, sales, and operational expertise to other RV and boat storage property owners and developers across the country, further enhancing its scale throughout the nation.

RecNation will manage these other properties in the same way it does its wholly owned property portfolio, the company says, and will be able to pass along the economies of scale savings it generates for the benefit of all its owned and managed properties over time.

Gary Wojtaszek, founder and “chief camper” of RecNation, said the launch of the third-party business  “highlights the strength and sophistication of our operating platform, which leverages many of the same high technology tools and techniques we deployed in our prior data center business—CyrusOne—and allows us to efficiently manage these properties in a highly automated and centralized way.”

“Every publicly traded self-storage REIT has a third-party management company which greatly complements and enhances their primary real estate investments by strengthening their market-leading positions,” Wojtaszek added, “and we intend to do the same in boat and RV storage.”

As one of the largest institutional platforms in the industry, RecNation said it can provide significant economies of scale to a “very fragmented asset class” by acquiring, designing, building, and operating premium storage facilities—and now it will offer that service to other property owners and real estate developers.

The company said its third-party management services are beneficial for a wide-ranging audience, whether it’s developers who want a seasoned operator to come in on day one or existing owners who want to move on to their next project and leverage RecNation’s scale.

Now offering RV consignment sales

RecResale is RecNation’s officially licensed RV dealership which will allow it to offer RV consignment sales to the company’s RV storage customers who are interested in selling their RVs.

RecResale complements the RecRental RV rental business the company launched earlier this year, the company said.

RecNation announced in August that it’s partnering with Ohio-based RVshare on RecRental, a white-glove RV rental program. Aiming to solve pain points for both RV owners and renters, RecNation called RecRental “a first-of-its-kind business for easy rental management.”

RecNation’s service will allow RV owners to earn rental income from their owned assets “hassle-free.” RecNation will provide professional management services each step of the way—from listing and marketing the RV rental to customer service, post-trip cleaning, repairs, and more.

By combining RecResale with RecRental, RecNation says it will be able to offer all its RV customers the ability to rent their RVs and generate extra income like AirBnB does for homeowners, and if they desire, will allow them to sell their RVs in a “very convenient, low-risk way.”

“This is just another example of the enhanced customer value we offer our storage customers and reinforces why they choose us for their RV storage solution. We’re developing the most robust ecosystem in the recreational storage market,” Wojtasek said.

Since its founding in 2020, RecNation has expanded to 54 locations across Texas, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, Tennessee, and Missouri.
