Rexel Energy Solutions Gets USPS Contract for Up to 41,500 EV Charging Stations in U.S.

In December, the U.S. Postal Service announced plans to acquire at least 66,000 battery electric delivery vehicles between now and 2028. All those vehicles will have to be charged up, though—and now a company whose parent is headquartered in Dallas has been enlisted to help. Rexel Energy Solutions, a business unit of Dallas-based Rexel USA, has been awarded a three-year contract with the U.S. Postal Service for the supply of EV charging stations to be deployed at Postal Service facilities.

A new cost-of-living study by fintech company SmartAsset says Fort Worth, Arlington, and San Antonio are tied at No. 7 among 76 U.S. cities for "Where $100,000 Goes Furthest." In the three Texas cities, a person earning $100,000 takes home $74,515 after taxes. But according to the study, that money is actually worth $80,124 when you adjust for the cost of living in all three cities—which is 7% lower than the U.S. average. See which city ranked highest—and where $100K is only worth a measly $36,000.

But electric vehicle owners may soon be joining them for their own fast, eco-friendly fill-ups, thanks to the launch of the new 7Charge EV charging network and app. Irving-based 7-Eleven today announced the rollout of 7Charge, which has begun delivering "a convenient and reliable fast-charging experience" at several 7-Eleven stores locations in Texas, Florida, Colorado, and California—including at least two locations in Dallas and Fort Worth.
