The C5 Youth Foundation of Texas will host an event Thursday at Lofty Spaces in Dallas to give teens an opportunity to meet and discuss technological innovations with businesses and researchers.
Game-Changing Teens: Building Our Future will begin at 5 p.m. with demonstrations and exhibitors showing off technology such as hover boards, robots helping in autism studies, and medical 3D printing. Among the organizations attending, will be Southern Methodist University Guildhall, RoboKind, and The University of Texas at Dallas.
The event will include a Celebrity Speaker’s Panel moderated by Latin American journalist Glenda Umaña featuring GameStop CEO Paul Raines, a Google Earth Founder Michael Jones, Cancer Scientist Dr. Rong Li, and others. They will discuss “overcoming adversity in and out of the workplace,” according to a release.
During the event, GameStop will be recognized for its investments with teens.
“This event isn’t just about technology, it’s about rethinking how kids learn in this day and age — and a forward-thinking creativity that applies to jobs that don’t yet exist,” event producer James Kirkegaard said in a release.
