Business $ense Bootcamps: Comerica and The DEC at Redbird Partner on Virtual Series For Small Businesses

To support the Dallas-Fort Worth community during "this critical time," Comerica is working with The DEC Network at Redbird to offer free financial workshops for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Comerica Bank and The DEC Network at Redbird are joining to offer a series of Virtual Business $ense Bootcamps that provide technical assistance for small businesses and entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series of bootcamps is part of Comerica and the Comerica Charitable Foundation’s COVID-19 relief efforts, which total $8 million.

“For more than 170 years, Comerica Bank has supported the communities we serve and is continuing to do so during this critical time,” said Comerica Bank Chief Community Officer Irvin Ashford Jr. in a statement.  “And, what better way to demonstrate our commitment to raising expectations of what a bank can be than to offer free financial workshops to the engine of our economy—local businesses and entrepreneurs—a sector highly-impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The first of four online programs begins today, July 14, and concludes Aug. 4. The three other bootcamps begin in the fall.

The programs are from Sept. 15 to Oct. 6, Oct. 27 to Nov. 17, and Dec. 8 to Jan. 12.

Participants of the program will have access to business coaches, as well as Comerica Bank representatives, who will all offer financial expertise. Each session will provide tools and strategies for entrepreneurs to help sustain their small business ventures during the pandemic.

“Comerica Bank has been our partner on many programs over the years,” Bill Chinn, CEO of The DEC Network, said in a statement. “With the current crisis we’re in, our entrepreneurs and small business community really need experts to help them navigate these new roads and seminars are an amazing way to support our community.”
