BCBS Innovation, a unit of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, is moving to the West End and will land in one of the district’s most historic renovated buildings.

The Dallas Morning News reported that BCBS Innovation will take about 25,000 square feet of space at the former Dallas Marketplace building at Market Street and Munger Avenue, which is being redone by Granite Properties into a high-tech, creative office space.

A Blue Cross spokesman confirmed the office space in the West End, but told the Morning News it’s too soon to talk about the operation.

The building is being refashioned into a new generation of office offerings to be known as Factory Six03. That’s an apt name because the building initially was a cookie factory built around the turn of the 20th century.

The Morning News reported that building permits show that roughly $2.5 million is being sent to construct BCBS Innovations new office at Factory Six03.
