Apex Fintech Solutions Taps Nasdaq Exec as New Chief Financial Officer

Chantal Wessels brings more than 18 years of financial industry experience to the firm, having previously served as division CFO for the Capital Access Platform group at Nasdaq.

Dallas-based Apex Fintech Solutions has appointed Chantal Wessels as chief financial officer, succeeding Chris Springer, who will transition to strategic finance adviser, after a successful four-year tenure leading the company.

Apex said it is the fintech for fintechs, powering innovation and the future of digital wealth management.

“As we enter into a new era of growth for Apex, I’m excited to announce Chantal as part of the Apex leadership team, as she brings both relevant sector expertise and highly complementary hands-on experience to the role,” CEO Bill Capuzzi said in a statement. “Chantal has spent her entire career working in the financial services and technology sectors and has seen it all from an industry perspective. Her stellar reputation and recognition within the industry will be a cornerstone as we propel Apex towards further growth and success.”

She brings more than 18 years of financial industry experience to the firm, having previously served as division CFO for the Capital Access Platform division at Nasdaq.

Wessels played a key role in establishing centers of excellence in Manila and Bangalore, driving a modernization initiative for the firm’s global financial reporting structures.

She also led the acceleration and execution of Nasdaq’s Corporate ESG strategy.

As Apex’s CFO, Wessels will be responsible for the strategic oversight of the financial areas of the business, working hand in hand with business leaders across the firm.

“It is a tremendous honor and privilege to serve as Apex’s next CFO,” Wessels said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a respected and innovative team and look forward to continuing our commitment to deliver better investing solutions and innovative services for our clients, collaborating with our partners, and expanding our business with exciting new opportunities for growth.”

As strategic finance adviser, Springer will work closely with Wessels and Apex’s leadership team to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

Apex Fintech Solutions enables seamless access and frictionless investing.

Its omni-suite of scalable solutions fuel innovation and evolution for hundreds of today’s market leaders, challengers, change makers, and visionaries, the company said.
