The Urban Land Institute North Texas has announced the finalists for its 2018 Impact Awards program.
The jury panel members spent two days traveling across North Texas — from Clearfork in Fort Worth to downtown Rockwall — to look at a record 32 award applications in four categories, according to ULI.
“There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that North Texas is not just growing, but is creating some truly remarkable developments that rival those in other cities around the nation.”
Pam Stein
“All of the jury members commented on both the volume and the high quality of the submissions this year,” Pam Stein, executive director of ULI North Texas, said in a release. “There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that North Texas is not just growing, but is creating some truly remarkable developments that rival those in other cities around the nation.”

Special Award
Jury members decided this year to create a special award for “Excellence in Execution and Sustainable Design,” to be given to Toyota Motor North American headquarters in Plano, which was submitted by KDC.
ULI — a nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members — said that the jury members were impressed by the overall design of the Toyota campus with “its central open space and climate-sensitive landscape design, the numerous innovative features of the buildings aimed at sustainability, and the forethought given to future flexibility.”
