Two veterans of the luxury real estate industry have launched NATIVE International Realty, a technology-based residential real estate brokerage with its headquarters in Dallas.
CEO Josh Ellis and Chief Operating Officer Gene Taylor started the brokerage to offer an innovative way to combine proprietary technology and experienced agent advisers.
“Because technology has transformed the way consumers research, buy and sell their homes, residential real estate finds itself in a brave new world of technological accessibility.”

“Because technology has transformed the way consumers research, buy, and sell their homes, residential real estate finds itself in a brave new world of technological accessibility,” Ellis said in a release. “However, with this accessibility comes the overwhelming burden of sifting through all the readily available information, while cherry picking assistance from lackluster digital tools and un-savvy agents.”
He said the brokerage designed a mobile-first, end-to-end real estate platform in response to “an industry in desperate need of positive change.”
The app’s main features include a simple, intuitive interface; comprehensive MLS data; 3D, virtual reality, and dollhouse views as well as make an offer now and connect; and concierge.
Also, the app has conveniences not found in all other mobile real estate apps, including saved searches, recently viewed, favorited homes, notifications on home status change, scheduling tours, and connecting directly with a dedicated agent.
The app’s initial launch is in Dallas, but it is a global and scalable platform. NATIVE said it plans for national and international expansion in the future.
Ellis said the app shows “the transformative power of technology, without sacrificing intimate, individually focused client service from our team of the top agent advisors in the business.”
Taylor said that he and Ellis have been contemplating building a new brokerage for awhile.
NATIVE COMBINES TECH DESIGN, USABILITY
“For years, Josh and I have discussed the need for a new model in residential real estate,” Taylor said. “Our industry is notoriously late to adopt new technologies, and despite the inevitable tipping point, so many brokerages are just waiting for the change instead of being proactive about making change themselves.”
According to the brokerage’s website, the NATIVE technology combines top-notch design and usability in a research and listing app. It gives the customer the ability to personally connect with one of the brokerage’s agent-advisers.
