Imagine a world in which there are no apps, like the one featured in the Apple Apocalypse video that opened the recent Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 in San Jose, California.
That’s what Tiffany Ricks did, and it inspired her to issue a challenge to Dallas startups.
In a blog on Launch DFW, Ricks, founder and CEO of Dallas-based mobile-app startup Hacware Inc., challenged “startups to re-invent themselves by becoming more sticky, build apps that change the way we interact with the world, and inspire users to rely on the app daily.”
No more apps that are similar to apps that already exist. No apps that are overly complicated, she urged.
She quoted former First Lady Michelle Obama, who spoke at the conference: “Start small. If you can’t fix your own backyard, it’s going to be hard to fix someone else’s.” Ricks used the quote as a basis for offered tips that startups should consider when building apps, which you can find here.

Now, Gozova has teamed with two other local businesses to help those close to home. On Saturday, Feb. 20, the trio will supply firewood at Tulips Fort Worth from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
