Capital, connections, business plans, and more
As the Feb. 2 deadline for the program approaches, applicants can find inspiration from last year’s winners. The 2023 program saw founders from Suretys and FeaturesFirst Auto take top honors, with Suretys’ Josh Minsky and Ed Bolles pioneering affordable auto loans, and Lisa Bailey of FeaturesFirst Auto focusing on driver-assisted tech training.
The Capital One Accelerator Program has been a game-changer in the automotive and mobility industry, the founders said.
Josh Minsky emphasized how the program helped Suretys grow. “We’re always pushing to grow ourselves and our businesses, and being honest to pivot without ego when change is required,” he said after winning the competition’s $15,000 top prize. Surety’s success in the program led to significant partnerships with credit unions, and they’ve also been approached by several large lending institutions, the founders said.
“Our sales pipeline continues to grow rapidly, as lending institutions look for innovative products that are a true win-win-win for our lenders, auto dealers, and auto buyers,” they added.
Lisa Bailey said the Accelerator Program propelled FeaturesFirst Auto forward. The entrepreneur noted the program’s role in expanding their influence within the automotive industry and forming strategic partnerships. The program came with a wealth of connections and knowledge that set a strong foundation for her company’s future growth. “I look forward to watching every seed planted grow exponentially, making an impact for years to come,” she said.
With the opportunity to pitch live at Dallas Startup Week, participants gain exposure to investors and industry professionals, an experience that past winners found transformative. The program’s emphasis on mentorship and professional growth echoes through the success stories of these entrepreneurs.
For those interested in following in the footsteps of these innovators, the 2024 program promises an enriching experience with no application fee. Participants should be prepared for a commitment of approximately 5-6 hours per session over 12 weeks, culminating in a live pitch and the chance to win significant prizes.
