Richardson-based RealPage—a leading global provider of property management software platforms—wants to reward renters for paying their rent on time, while helping property owners build loyalty “with every rent payment.”
It’s doing that by partnering with New York-based Bilt, a rewards platform that enables consumers to earn points on their rent while also accessing free credit reporting.
RealPage says the rewards platform will help “drive resident loyalty and unlock new revenue streams” for its customers, who offer more than 24 million rental units from offices in North America, Europe and Asia.
Through the collaboration, RealPage says its customers can integrate Bilt Rewards into their systems in as little as 24 hours, with Bilt payments “integrating effortlessly” into existing RealPage accounting processes.
RealPage CEO and President Dana Jones said her company “is leading the way in multifamily by delivering AI-enabled, open platforms for customers.”
“With resident retention and loyalty at the top of our customers’ agendas, our new best-in-class integration with Bilt Rewards will enable RealPage customers to improve resident loyalty and unlock new revenue streams,” Jones added in a statement.
Rewards can be used for air miles, hotel stays, groceries, dining, and more
Residents using the program can earn “Bilt points” and convert them 1:1 into airline and hotel miles points, as well as toward “everyday expenses like rent, groceries, Amazon purchases, dining, and more,” RealPage said.
Property owners using the program will be able to “build loyalty with every rent payment,” RealPage said, by rewarding on-time rent payments with rewards, and offering residents perks like free credit reporting and other exclusive benefits.
Aiming to “incentivize resident engagement,” the company says the program will provide incentives for residents to leverage the RealPage ActiveBuilding resident portal, utilize rewards points, and “drive KPIs and revenue-generating behavior like early lease renewals.”
The rewards program will be built into RealPage OneSite, which helps property owners drive efficiency, operational visibility, and reduced risk, RealPage said.
‘A game changer for the multifamily industry’
“This exciting partnership between RealPage and Bilt is a game changer for the multifamily industry, making it even easier for property managers to generate value through rewards,” Ankur Jain, founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards, said in a statement.
Jain’s company says its Bilt Rewards platform “enables renters in more than three million units across the U.S. to earn Bilt Points just by paying rent, while property owners benefit from resident loyalty, cost savings, and a share of revenue.”
The company says residents can redeem Bilt Points for credits toward rent or “even toward a down payment on a future home.”
Bilt noted that it has partnered with Mastercard to create the Bilt Mastercard issued by Wells Fargo—”the first and only credit card that can be used to pay rent and earn Bilt Points with no transaction fees.”
