You may have visited The Star in Frisco. Well now you can drive through a Dallas Cowboys star designed by a pop star known for the mega hit “Rockstar”—and grab some chicken fingers on the other side.
Post Malone—an 8-times diamond-certified GRAMMY Award-nominated recording artist who grew up in the Dallas area—is such a huge ‘Pokes fan, he once told Hall of Famer Michael Irvin he’d get an “88” tattooed on his forehead if the team won the Super Bowl.
After Sunday’s 42-10 loss to the 49ers, Super Bowl dreams may be receding a bit. But a new dream has come to life at 2255 W. Northwest Highway at I-35 in Dallas: a “Post Malone x Dallas Cowboys”-themed Raising Cane’s restaurant.
Designed by Post Malone himself and opening Thursday—months after he designed a hot pink Raising Cane’s near his home in Utah—the Cowboys Cane’s is “the first of its kind” and “pays homage to iconic moments across Post and Cowboys history,” the chicken chain said in a written statement.
The restaurant’s signature is a 32-foot-tall Cowboys Star straddling the drive-thru lane, turning an ordinary chicken run into a pretty magical Cowboy-fan experience.
The theme continues inside and out, with art and displays including a custom silver vinyl wrap around the exterior, silhouettes of Post’s signature on-stage moments, blue lighting throughout the interior, Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, a suit of armor, a vending machine featuring exclusive merchandise, and more.
“Growing up in Dallas, I’ve been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Cane’s since I was a kid, so it’s an honor to be part of this collaboration with two of the greatest brands in history,” Post Malone said in a statement.
Follows chain’s release of Post Malone x Cane’s Cowboys cups
The artified location in Dallas follows the April release of Post-designed Cane’s drinking cups nationwide, which were followed in turn by Post-designed Cowboys cups.
Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys owner, president, and GM, said the team is “very proud to be part of this innovative new store and concept.”
“Seeing that big Cowboys star in position to greet everyone will be a great reminder and reflection of how much we value and celebrate our continued collaboration,” Jones added in a statement. “First the Post Malone x Cane’s Cowboys cups and now an entire restaurant. We just love the partnership and friendship with [Cane’s Founder and CEO] Todd Graves, Cane’s, and Post Malone.”
Cane’s Founder Graves said that “no restaurant brand has collaborated with a global superstar and sports team on this level, and to see it come to life has been a great experience.”
“Post and the Cowboys have loyal fanbases and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to this restaurant that Austin [Post’s legal first name] designed, whether they’re grabbing a bite before a game or after a show, or any time they’re in the mood for a Box Combo,” Graves added.
After Thursday’s grand opening, the restaurant will operate under normal business hours of 9 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 9 to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, the chicken chain said.
Other design features of the restaurant:
:: The patio is a nod to Post’s love for “pong” with the tables and chairs placed accordingly.
:: Cane’s classic red logo is replaced by the blue Post Malone x Cane’s logo on the building and pole signs.
:: As walk-in customers approach the front counter, the wall will reveal the Raising Cane’s x Post Malone collab logo and the image changes to reveal an on-stage image of Post Malone as they step closer to order.
:: A vending machine features exclusive merch that can’t be found anywhere else including hats, socks, drink sleeves, keychains, T-shirts, foam footballs, magnets, and lapel pins.”
:: A Post Malone fan mailbox stands by to receive fan mail, which is regularly picked up and delivered to Post himself.
:: Displays throughout the restaurant feature vintage Dallas Cowboys memorabilia including an early ’90s autographed game jersey, custom cleats, and more.
:: LED screens feature small animations that bring to life the artwork featured on the Post x Cane’s x Cowboys cup along with footage from the Utah store opening.
:: Post’s booth area features a custom painting of the pop star by artist Patrick Ganino.
:: Other iconography from Post’s style and tours include the replica suit of 1400s knight’s armor, broken Post guitars, outfits Post wore at a 2019 Posty Fest show in Texas.
