Robert J. Kirk, founder and CEO of Richardson-based InterGen Data recently was named to the National Small Business Association Leadership Council.
NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and positions itself as a nonpartisan group that aims to promote policies conducive to a healthy small-business environment.
“As a small business owner, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” Kirk said in a statement. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
Using AI/ML to help customers deal with unplanned life events
Kirk, a leader in financial services, wealth management, AI, and the small-business community, joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the nation who are working to promote the interests of small businesses to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
Kirk has more than three decades of experience in the financial sector.
At the helm of InterGen Data, he aims to advance predictive analytics, impacting sectors from banking to home healthcare.
InterGen Data, an AI/ML firm, specializes in predicting significant life events and analyzing their financial impact. Its algorithms determine the probability, nature, and financial repercussions of these events, according to a news release. Through DaaS and SBM models, InterGen offers actionable insights to financial institutions, healthcare providers, and insurers, highlighting coverage discrepancies, risk areas, and potential revenue avenues.
Kirk’s roles at 1st Global Research & Consulting and Mphasis, a Blackstone company, have given Kirk technology and wealth management expertise that has driven innovations at institutions such as Penson Financial Services.
Kirk has been instrumental in using AI/ML to improve customers’ understanding of the financial implications of unplanned life events, thereby transforming their journeys with predictive and prescriptive insights, InterGen said.
Giving small businesses a voice to policymakers
Kirk said he joined the NSBA Leadership Council as part of his efforts to tackle critical issues facing small businesses, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, healthcare costs, and how access to capital will impact small businesses.
The NSBA Leadership Council aims to provide valuable networking between small-business advocates nationwide while giving small businesses a seat at the table as Congress and regulators take up key small-business proposals.
“I am proud to have Robert Kirk as part of our Leadership Council,” NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken, said in a statement. “He came to us highly recommended, and I look forward to our coordinated efforts for years to come.”
