Plano-based retailer At Home has appointed retail industry veteran Jeff Evans as president and chief merchandising officer, effective June 19.

He’s a collaborative leader who has delivered consistent results by building high performing teams, being customer and data focused and driving digital transformation.”
Evans is a senior merchandising leader with 32 years in managing businesses across different retail formats including department stores, warehouse clubs, and mass retailers, At Home said. He has extensive experience in e-commerce, building brands, product development, sourcing, and identifying business opportunities.
“At Home is uniquely situated to continue to grow by delivering incredible customer value in the home décor space,” Evans said in a statement. “I ‘m very excited to join Lee and the At Home team to help drive the business strategy and participate in fueling future growth by identifying and maximizing opportunities to deliver results.”
Before At Home, Evans was EVP of entertainment, toys and seasonal for Walmart US, where he managed the company’s largest omnichannel general merchandise business in excess of $37 billion.
Evans served in leadership roles at Walmart US and Sam’s Club for 15 years in general merchandising, omnichannel, home and apparel divisions, At Home said. Under Evans’ leadership, the Walmart US home business generated $22 billion.
Evans began his career at Filene’s in Boston, a division of May Department Stores, and spent 16 years merchandising different categories in apparel.
At Home, which calls itself The Home and Holiday Superstore, says it offers some 45,000 on-trend home products to fit every room, style, budget or season. At Home currently operates 263 stores in 40 states.
In March, At Home announced “thousands of price drops” after improving its supply chain freight costs.
