Fresh juices, vegetables, and other healthy food options abound at the new Recipe Oak Cliff co-op near the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Business Journal reported.
Founder Tisha Crear started the concept to give the area something other than the usual liquor store, convenience store, and pay-day cash loan shop.
Recipe Oak Cliff is bike-friendly with rack parking in the adjoined lot.

The catalyst for the project came from the Embrey Family Foundation, which invested in the project through the Community Fund at The Real Estate Council.
Crear also founded the Susu Cultural Business Incubator that has created several popup markets throughout Oak Cliff to revitalize empty buildings. She wants to continue that mission with Recipe Oak Cliff.
The building off Ewing Avenue will be a “food security house” where local health food businesses can find incubator space. She also plans to offer cooking classes to teach residents how to prepare healthy meals.
“The idea is to create a healthier business hub model and use this platform for that,” Crear said. “Of course, we start off with where you start, which is food and food security.”
