A Texas Christian University alumnus will get his time in the spotlight Thursday night as a guest on CNBC’s Make Me a Millionaire Inventor.
The CNBC show, hosted by George Zaidan and Deanne Bell, gives inventors feedback as well as advice in crafting pitches for potential investors.
Harrison Herndon, co-founder and CEO of DropShades Eyewear, will discuss his glasses, which illuminate a range of colors in response to beats of music.
Herndon launched DropShades in 2013 with two fellow TCU classmates. The company raised more than $78,000 via a Kickstarter campaign that year, according to TCU 360.
The audio-responsive LED shades cost about $50 and have won favor with music festival-goers. The company has sold 20,000 glasses so far, according to Fort Worth, Texas Magazine.
The show airs at 9 p.m. on CNBC, but you can watch the episode along with Herndon and test out DropShades yourself at Masque Dallas, 2533 McKinney Ave. The viewing party begins at 8 p.m.
