Fort Worth’s Elbit Systems of America Wins $76M U.S. Army Contract for Apache Helicopter Sight Systems

Fort Worth-based Elbit Systems of America, a subsidiary of Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems, has been awarded a five-year U.S. Army contract of up to $76 million to provide Integrated Helmet And Display Sight Systems (“IHADSS”) for the Army’s AH-64 Apache helicopter fleet.

The IHADSS parts will be delivered from Elbit’s Fort Worth engineering and manufacturing facility. IHADSS puts flight and targeting information directly in front of the pilot’s eye, enabling mission success and crew safety.

In addition to the IHADSS for the Apache, Elbit Systems of America provides the Apache AH-64E model with the Multicore Mission Processor, which provides all of the functionality of onboard Apache systems.

Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, says IHADSS offers “a significant tactical advantage that provides reliable situational awareness, eases the pilots’ workload, enhances their safety, and [helps them] achieve success when flying their most demanding missions.”

The contract continues Elbit Systems’ decades-long relationship with the U.S. Army’s Apache fleet. An initial delivery order of around $6 million has been issued under the ID/IQ contract, to be executed over a two-year period.
