InspireMore, a Dallas-based media platform that spreads positivity, is hoping to spread some light during the global COVID-19 pandemic with the newly launched Coronavirus Good News Dashboard.
The dashboard, created by InspireMore co-founders Robert Neely and Hunter Stensrud, is dedicated to showing how uplifting content can improve both mental and physical health. That could include an update on the fight against the virus, creative fundraisers, global acts of kindness, or tips on how to stay healthy. The network has already reached millions—it was even cited by actor-director John Krasinski during his recent Some Good News video.
“At the start of COVID-19, we kept hearing people—our family, friends, readers—say that they were losing hope during this time of coronavirus,” Neely said in a statement. “We wanted to instill that hope: We were hearing inspiring anecdotes of people all around the world trying to make a positive impact in their communities daily. We created the Coronavirus Good News Dashboard to provide access to these uplifting stories, and people can feel that same hope and positivity within a moment’s notice.”
Positivity can improve health
Studies have shown that positivity can improve overall health. InspireMore is featuring media from around the globe using its content identifying technology, and updating the dashboard daily. And healthcare workers fighting on the front lines of the virus are turning to the dashboard, according to the co-founders.
“Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we have seen an uptick in people accessing these positive bits of info and tips and our engagement rates have skyrocketed,” Strensrud said. “It’s clear people are desperate for glimmers of hope and joy during this time, and we have seen how this Good News Dashboard lifts the spirits of people all over the world.”
Launched six years ago, InspireMore has now reached 500M online fans around the world. Licensed Professional Counselor Audrey Hardin has even started recommending the resource to her patients to bring a little joy to their day.
“InspireMore’s Good News Dashboard is a timely resource that I personally use and refer to my clients to create awareness for the many things we can be grateful for,” she said. “Choosing gratitude boosts the neurotransmitter serotonin and activates your brain stem production of dopamine—one of the ‘feel good’ chemicals in our brain. In other words, gratitude actually makes us feel happier.”
