Trinity Groves, the mixed-use restaurant and retail hub that sits just south of downtown Dallas, is once again running a pitch contest to find a new restaurant or retail concept for the development. The group ran a similar competition in July 2018 with Trinity Groves’ goal being to partner with the winning chef, restaurateur, or retailer and invest both capital and support in the new business.
Applicants for the pitch opportunity must fill out an online form—now open—asking about their past experience and a description of their concept, and can also share videos, pictures, and resumes.
After a review process, applicants will pitch their idea to the Trinity Groves partners. The ideas chosen for investment will be able to open their doors at the development within the next year.
“Many entrepreneurs can’t afford to open their own business because of the high investment cost. But at Trinity Groves, we are the investors that help you get your business off the ground and you get a guaranteed paycheck,” said Phil Romano, Trinity Groves’ owner, in a statement. “We encourage restaurant and retail innovators from across the country to apply. We are looking for people with a passion for owning their own business who want to expand upon what Trinity Groves offers.”
Beyond the initial investment in its entrepreneurial partners, Trinity Groves also handles the back end of running the business such as payroll, bill paying, insurance, and vendor credit, which allows the new restaurateur or retailer to focus on food and customer service.
The popular five-year-old West Dallas development includes more than a dozen retail outlets and restaurants with part of its mission being to foster new concepts and businesses by capitalizing on the culture of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Dallas.
