The Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council will be honoring its 100 most influential Hispanic leaders in tech, including eight people based in North Texas.
The awardees will be honored on Oct. 24 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront. Microsoft will also be honored as Corporation of the Year during the gala.
“HITEC is proud to recognize the top 100 technology executive leaders that happen to be Hispanic. Not only do they represent the top tier talent that is making a positive impact on the technology industry, they also serve as role models to the next generation of leaders that are accelerating in their respective businesses and communities,” Guillermo Diaz, Jr., HITEC Chairman and SVP of Customer Transformation at Cisco Systems, Inc., said in a statement.
The North Texas-based leaders who made this year’s list include:

47 of the 2020 HITEC 100 awardees come from Fortune 500 companies, while 46 women made the list.

These Hispanic leaders are driving and setting the tone of this transformative era of digital disruption,” Juan Carlos Gutierrez, HITEC board member and chair of the Awards Committee, CEO and managing partner of rational7, said in a statement.
HITEC members, partners, and the general public nominate leaders for the 100 list. Awardees are evaluated based on their accomplishments in the tech industry, along with their mentoring and professional development activities.
HITEC’s mission is to increase Hispanic representation, while creating stronger tech and executive leaders, according to a statement. The HITEC 100 is just one of the ways that HITEC works to achieve its mission.
