Universal is pulling back the curtain—just a little more—on what to expect at its first U.S. theme park designed just for families with young kids, opening in Frisco in 2026.

In its latest update, Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed new details about the seven themed lands coming to the 97-acre Universal Kids Resort. Each land is built around interactive play, character-driven fun, and spaces where kids can explore at their own pace.

“We envisioned this park through the unbridled creativity of kids where infinite imagination, curiosity, and free-spirited play were core to our design philosophies,” said Brian Robinson, EVP and chief creative officer at Universal Creative. “It produced a park that’s pure joy and an absolute celebration of what it is to be a kid.”

“From blowing bubbles to belly laughs, there will be fun for kids of all ages and interests,” Robinson said.

A colorful 300-room on-site hotel will serve as the entrance to the Universal resort, offering themed accommodations.

Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, says the destination made for kids “brings Universal’s signature storytelling to families close to home” in the North Texas theme park.
