In the wake of Dallas-based RecNation’s securing a $500M debt facility to supercharge its national expansion of its recreational storage and rental service, founder and CEO Gary Wojtaszek gave a playful hint of things to come on LinkedIn. The former Cyrus One CEO wants to store America’s RVs, boats, and other “toys”—and help owners make money when they aren’t using their RVs—with his fast-growing startup, RecNation.
Nasdaq Vice Chairman Bob McCooey lauded RecNation for its rapid growth and burgeoning media recognition. In response, Wojtaszek replied, “Just save us a spot for the bell ringing,” sparking intrigue about the company’s future developments. The clang of that bell, whether it’s a nod to a future IPO or another remarkable milestone, remains to be seen. But either way, RecNation continues to be a dynamic player in its sector.
“Who wants to rent an RV? We’ll leave the lights on.” Wojtaszek said.

Gary Wojtaszek turned Dallas-based CyrusOne public and grew it into a leading global data center firm. It recently sold for $15 billion. Now—instead of storing computers and data—he aims to store America's RVs, boats, and other "toys" with his new startup, RecNation. With funding secured from Centerbridge Partners, he aims to grow his company by 75 locations a year—and build another multi-billion-dollar business.
