The Last Word: Marty Wieder on the Arlington EDC’s Newly Designed Website

“This renewal and relaunch should give a clear picture of where Arlington’s been, where we are now—and where we’re headed, so others can see the value of choosing to come along with us.”

When Marty Wieder took the helm as executive director of the Arlington Economic Development Corporation in February, he brought with him a vision to showcase Arlington’s economic potential. Now, with the launch of the EDC’s newly designed website, ArlingtonTxEDC.com, that vision is taking shape.

Arlington EDC’s nonprofit mission is to recruit business and industry, help local companies grow, and generate quality job opportunities throughout the Arlington metro area. This week, it put the city’s best foot forward with its newly designed website.

“As a funded EDC, we’re still so young; so the data, words and photos we include are quite critical for the story we share,” Wieder said in a statement.

The homepage leads off with a fast-paced video spotlighting the Arlington Entertainment District and other city attractions, as well as big companies who operate in the city, like General Motors. Elsewhere, the site offers easy-to-navigate information on Arlington’s economic climate, including interactive visualized data, workforce insights, available incentives, and more.

The new website could be a boon for another Arlington EDC mission: aiding new businesses considering the area for expansion and new investment. The EDC also provides retention and expansion assistance to existing industry, as well.

Along with economic data, the website also provides users with news about the latest projects, local business spotlights, small business resources, and other economic happenings in the Arlington area.
For Wieder, the new site’s focus on a comprehensive narrative aligns with his deep knowledge of the North Texas economic landscape and his passion for Arlington’s history and future.

As City Manager Trey Yelverton noted when announcing Wieder’s appointment in January, “Marty’s credentials are strong as it relates to working in the economic development world in North Texas. He knows the business leaders, the brokers, the people who get things done.”
