Gabe Madison, president of Bonton Farms, was one of 16 nonprofit leaders picked by the PepsiCo Foundation and Doritos SOLID BLACK for the 2023 Black Changemakers program last spring. Madison left her Fortune 500 corporate job last year to focus on the nonprofit that is "more than just a farm." As Madison puts it: It's an organization dedicated to transforming people's lives." .…on the planned Bonton Farms Wellness Center in South Dallas.
Bonton Farms is “cultivating growth” in South Dallas with its urban farm, farmers market, and community-building efforts that include education, job training, housing, and more.
Now the nonprofit has broken ground on a facility that will provide medical and wellness services to residents in the community.
The Bonton Farms Wellness Center will be located at 6407 Carlton Garrett St. and is slated to open in 2025, according to CultureMap Dallas’ Teresa Gubbins.
The 11,000-square-foot facility is being designed by Parkhill and will offer medical care as well as financial health resources, access to healthy food, preventive care, and more—including health fairs and wellness classes.
“We’re fully confident it will impact generations to come,” Madison said.
