UP.Partners' "moving world" ecosystem also includes a VC arm investing in transportation tech companies "that make you say, 'Hell yes!'" and a venture lab ranked No. 7 in Fast Company.

Air Transport World announced today that American Airlines has been named the 2023 Eco-Airline of the Year.
ATW lauded American’s work to run a more fuel-efficient operation with more fuel-efficient aircraft powered increasingly by low-carbon fuel and new technology.

Two months after investing at least $5 million in ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-electric engine developer, Fort Worth-based American Airlines has made a strategic investment in L.A.-based Universal Hydrogen Co., a hydrogen fuel distribution and logistics startup.
"This technology has the potential to be a game-changer on the industry’s path to zero-emission flight,” said Derek Kerr, American’s CFO.
