That scratched-up copy of "Rubber Soul" in your attic could have a new life as a new artist's LP. Using patented micronization technology, the project from VMB Micro will turn whole records into clean material streams suitable for pressing new records and manufacturing innovative vinyl-based products.
A member of the Upcycled Food Association, Kazoo Snacks says every bag of its tortilla chips saves at least 20 gallons of water by using upcycled corn germ and a short list of other clean ingredients such as salt and corn (or sunflower) oil. Upcycling simply means figuring out a way to use an ingredient that otherwise would have been discarded or unused.
The zoo estimates it's diverted over 1,000 pounds of nitrile gloves from landfills since 2018. The gloves are shipped out, recycled, and made into eco-responsible planters, chairs, and shelves.
