Texas A&M’s Mays Business School has tapped startup founder and former Merlyn for Education CEO Levi Belnap as executive director, building on last year's appointment of “the nation’s first dean of AI."

Arelion's new mesh routes form a new ring from Austin to Dallas, to Houston, and back to Austin—with additional overbuild capacity between Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso. Silicon Valley-based autonomous driving startup Plus has announced a partnership with brands of the Munich-based TRATON GROUP. The partners say they're already testing self-driving trucking runs between Dallas and Houston with a safety driver on board—and more runs are coming "in the Texas triangle and I-10 corridor."

With 90,739 acres of vacant land, Dallas led all 20 of the most populous urban centers in the U.S. for having the most vacant land available. That's according to a report from CommercialCafe, a commercial real estate internet listing service. Fort Worth came in No. 2 with 90,739 acres of vacant land. Four of the top 5 cities on the list are in the Texas Triangle, with San Antonio at No. 4 and Houston at No. 5.
