California’s Plus, German Truck Giant Test Self-Driving Runs Between Dallas and San Antonio

Silicon Valley-based autonomous driving startup Plus has announced a partnership with brands of the Munich-based TRATON GROUP. The partners say they're already testing self-driving trucking runs between Dallas and Houston with a safety driver on board—and more runs are coming "in the Texas triangle and I-10 corridor."

With 90,739 acres of vacant land, Dallas led all 20 of the most populous urban centers in the U.S. for having the most vacant land available. That's according to a report from CommercialCafe, a commercial real estate internet listing service. Fort Worth came in No. 2 with 90,739 acres of vacant land. Four of the top 5 cities on the list are in the Texas Triangle, with San Antonio at No. 4 and Houston at No. 5.

Finnish Ambassador to the U.S. Mikko Hautala and a delegation of business leaders is touring the Texas Triangle to talk economic cooperation and new technologies.
“For us, the key message to Finnish companies and travelers is that there's also the U.S. South, and Texas is the center of that. You have a bigger GDP than Brazil," Hautala told Dallas Innovates.
