Fair Park’s Planned Community Park To Get Nearly $2.6M from NexPoint Philanthropies, Texas Parks & Wildlife

NexPoint's gift, along with the TPW Recreation Grant, brings a combined investment totaling nearly $2.6 million, ensuring that the project continues its momentum to deliver on a decades-long promise to bring a community green space to the residents of South Dallas surrounding Fair Park.

The $8.6 million grant has been awarded to the city of Dallas on behalf of Fair Park First and the Community Park and will be distributed through the National Park Service’s Land and Water Conservation Fund’s Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program.

A 100th birthday is a big deal—especially when every Texan can join the party. So to celebrate its 2023 centennial, Texas Parks & Wildlife is hosting a photo contest almost all year long. And some of the best images may be waiting for us at the end of the year right here in North Texas, when Palo Pinto Mountains State Park opens 80 miles west of Fort Worth.
