DFW Airport CEO to Retire in 2025 Amid $9B Capital Improvement Program

Since taking his post in 2013, Sean Donohue has helped DFW Airport become the third-busiest airport in the world and set the stage for DFW's $9 billion capital improvement program, featuring a reimagined Terminal C and a new Terminal E. The airport's board is initiating a global search for his successor.

The request for proposals comes as the airport prepares to begin construction on more than $5 billion worth of new terminal facilities later this year. Wanted: everything from grab-and-go to sit-down restaurants to retail services.

In a 2023 "State of the Airport" presentation, DFW Airport said it contributes an estimated $38 billion in direct and indirect payroll support, $24 billion in visitor spending, and about $5 billion in state and local tax revenue each year. The airport also unveiled new renderings of Terminal F and upgrades for Terminal C.
