Sonara Health Gets $2.5M NIDA Grant to Advance Remote Methadone Treatment

The $2.5 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant awarded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse will fund the second phase of Sonara's Remote Observed Methadone Evaluation study, the company said.

“We're excited about this opportunity with the National Science Foundation and cannot wait to make our prototype available to further democratize access to higher education and meet global changes in workforce demand,” Learning Bridge CEO Laura Hayes said. The Allen-based nonprofit is a fellow of United Way Dallas' 2025 Social Innovation Accelerator.

AyuVis, an immunotherapy startup, is set to get a $1.8 million Small Business Innovation Research grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The funding will support the pre-clinical research of its drug candidate to treat the second-leading cause of death in premature babies.
