North Texas’ TXU Energy Partners with Sunrun on Residential Solar Battery ‘Virtual Power Plant’ Program

The TXU Energy & Sunrun Battery Rewards program, announced by Irving-based Vistra Energy, will aggregate power stored in residential, solar-connected batteries, forming a virtual power plant to dispatch energy back to the grid when it's needed the most.

The new TXU Energy Connected Conservation program enables anyone with an eligible thermostat to take a more significant role in energy conservation. By agreeing to small, gradual, automatic temperature adjustments during peak consumption periods, customers will help conserve energy across Texas—using less and saving more.
