The North Texas Innovation Alliance has begun offering quarterly "hands-on innovation experiences" at "the brightest and most innovative projects across North Texas" for NTXIA members. The Immersive Innovation field trips kicked off with a tour of the NSF's newly opened eCAT Center at UNT. Here's where the NTXIA is going next.
The $30 million UTD-led project aims "to accelerate the transition and scaling of next-generation batteries," while reducing dependence on scarce critical materials. Led by UTD biology professor Dr. Kyeongjae Cho, the initiative will include the construction of a new research facility at the Richardson IQ.
Described as "an innovative company with a global reach," Austin Circuit Design was founded in Austin in 1985 and moved to Garland following a 2015 acquisition. The advanced design and manufacturing firm specializes in mechanical, industrial, hardware, and software design. COO Mark Cottam says the new IQ location will help ACD continue to "drive strong company growth" and "focus on innovation."
The city is requesting developer proposals for a high-density, transit-oriented development at DART’s Arapaho Center Station. It will act as a large connector and entry point for The IQ—a sprawling district focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.
